Flu strategy at ANU

Tuesday 28 July 2009: ACT Health has announced that the Territory, in line with the advice from the Federal Government, has shifted its response to the H1N1 flu strain from Contain to Protect. This move to Protect phase reflects the decision of the health authorities that, for most people, the H1N1 flu produces only mild to moderate symptoms, and that the greatest response should be for people at high risk of severe complications should they contract the disease. The University is following the advice of Australian authorities closely and is ready to implement its Pandemic Influenza Response Plan if required. Under the Protect phase University operations will largely continue as normal. Please read the FAQs.

 

This website contains information on the ANU response to the H1N1 Influenza 09 virus.

ANU is following the advice and instructions of national and territory authorities in response to the virus.

The University has also developed a Pandemic Influenza Response Plan which establishes a progressive approach to reducing our activities, if the risk level to our campus community and operations increases.

At this stage University operations are continuing as normal.
